What's to tell? We love to sing!
Every chorus in the Barbershop Society is different; each is defined by the type of musical journey they wish to pursue. The Entertainers are just that ... a bunch of guys who enjoy entertaining throughout the Halton and Peel regions, any time of the year. (We meet right through the summer!) Our presentations range from a few minutes, as with a 'Singing Valentine' by a quartet, to several hours for a full, multi-act variety show, as we do every year in May. We even have a 'VLQ' (meaning Very Large Quartet) for those occasions where a small group is most appropriate.
Musically, we do much more than 'the old songs!' Right now our repertoire includes music from The Lion King, Elvis, Ricky Nelson. plus Gospel and spiritual selections, and a good sprinkling of Broadway show music. Entertainment, by definition, requires variety. Our repertoire is always being refreshed for that reason.
Each April we attend our district convention and compete with other choruses and quartets for the right to advance to provincial and international contests. Larger choruses than ours usually earn those privileges, but we're working on it! Another 20 or so new members and we'll be right in there. (Are you ready to help us make that happen?)
The 'barbershop style' ain't what it used to be! The better choruses and quartets deliver the highest levels of choral presentation, and an ever-expanding delivery of musical genres. This clip shows The Entertainers delivering the finale number at a recent 3-choir choral benefit performance in Bramalea, ON.

Then there is the social part of our hobby: Beyond the weekly fellowship, we enjoy the occasional party, (whatever the excuse!), as well as inter-chapter visits of various types. In October we join several chapters from Ontario and New York State for a day of hair-raising singing. Training seminars over a day or a weekend offer more inter-chapter social opportunity.
Our chapter is managed by a 10-man Board of Directors, supported by several standing committees. We operate under a charter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. Our officers welcome any questions you may have (see Contact Us).
